St. Augustine is the perfect vacation destination, offering something for everyone. Known as the Nation’s oldest city, you’re sure to get lost in the historic charm of these old streets. Our family rents an air-BnB 3 weeks out of the year. In November we go for Thanksgiving & enjoy the Nights of Lights, something you truly must-see once in a lifetime. During summer we stay for two weeks & enjoy all the surf, sun & beach bumming we can handle. I’ve had so many people ask about where to go so I’ve decided to make a list of my favorite spots In St. Augustine.
Where to Stay?
4th street has become our home away from home, located on Anastasia Island. You’re just 10 minutes away from historic downtown while being emersed in the quaint feel of a surf town. Here’s the air BNB’s we love to call home for the week. The first one offers a hot tub & surfboard/bikes, this is our favorite & the host- DB is awesome & super helpful.
1.Air BNB on 4th Street – 4 bedrooms/ hot tub / Waterview / $300 a night
2. Air BNB on 4th street- 2 bedroom/ Waterview/ $177 a night
Best Restaurants:
The perfect spot to have a mid-day cocktail. Bike or walk the beach & stop in! They have great calamari, smoked fish dip & chips & guacamole! However, they are known best for their craft cocktails. My favorite would have to be the Prickly Pear Scoville Margarita!
This is a nice place to enjoy live music & truly immerse yourself in the middle of it all! I recommend their salads or fish sandwiches here. It’s best to go during sunset when the restaurant is lit up & you can people watch, as horse carriages, trolleys & more stroll by.
-Salt Water Cowboys Restaurant
This little country spot has been our family tradition for as long as I can remember. Salt Water Cowboy’s is also known as the oldest restaurant- over 60 years & counting! Try your best to go at sunset & get a spot by the window! The view is unbelievable & the comfort food is even better!
Best Bars
This is the local’s spot & definitely where you want to end your night. This is also a fun place for the entire family to get on the dance floor. Cocktails are great & there’s plenty of seating/space to grab a table & talk.
The Bar with No Name is a classic dive bar. They usually have live music & they overlook the water & historic fort of St. Augustine. This is one of our favorites & a good place to hit while bopping around.
-The Tide’s Oyster Co. & Grill
We love this one because it’s just a quick walk from our Air BnB on 4th street. They have a great happy hour from 3-7 pm with $3.50 well drinks, $4 house wines & $2 domestic bottles. On Wednesday it’s flip night, so you’re able to flip a coin to see if your drink is free. On Friday live music. Great area to play pool/darts as well.
I’ve only been here once but it was a blast! Very fun culture change up & lots of dancing.
This is a must when you’re visiting during the Night of Lights. You’ll get to people-watch & have a nice view of the water. The espresso martini is to die for as well!

-Beach Volleyball
4th Street is known for having some pretty awesome people on their street & a great beach volleyball set up, as soon as you enter the beach you’ll see it. Get a group together & see what you’ve got!
-The St. Augustine Light House
A very cute date ideal. My boyfriend & I went during the holidays & it was so magical to see the historic town all lit up!
Shopping
This is definitely one of the best outlets out there. With great deals. H&M, sunglass hut, forever 21 & fossil are some of my favorites just to name a few!
I get the most compliments on the rings I buy from here. They are also female-owned & have an awesome little thrift store where you can find vintage goodies.
Best overall surf shop in St. Augustine. Biggest & best selection of your classic brands like Oneil, billabong & rip curl.
