Village Square Islamorada at the Trading Post
For those visiting the Florida Keys & who don’t have a boat or may not feel like being on the water for the day, don’t fret you have options! One of our favorite options as locals is an evening at the Village Square, located across from Checca & next to the Trading Post. This small but fierce little village offers an oasis of gardens – with the most adorable shops sprinkled in. Offering fashion, gifts, food, coffee, plants & local art.
Miss Monroe-
This shop is filled with your island vibe must-haves. You’ll find all your staple pieces to pair with any & everything. From strappy sandals, comfy biker shorts, classy dresses, Levi vintage jeans & MUST have accessories! If you need to bring home loved ones’ goodies look no further ~ Miss Monroe’s Boutique is a must. Don’t get tricked into the sandal outlets or the signs that say ‘5 shirts for $10 dollars’ get your loved ones a gift they’ll actually use & want to show off.

Bad Boy Burrito-
It’s one of the coolest little spots around. Enjoy peaceful outdoor seating & the most authentic Mexican food in the area. But wait this place just got even better. If you’re a local you’ve heard that they’ve now started serving SUSHI! Enjoy fresh ~fish tacos, sushi burritos, Sushi Rolls, local beer & so much more.
Fun Fact~ I just tried the sushi burrito for the first time last week (it was amazing- & don’t forget to dip it in the sauce for those taste buds to go wild)
Cafe Moka -Islamorada-
Cafe Moka is a french cafe & bakery. They have another location in Tavernier that offers all kinds of food & treats. However, this small version offers outstanding coffee, smoothies & pastries! You must try the Nutella twist & almond crescent- those are my family’s all-time favorites.
Fun Fact~ The owners came to America from France & started their business in the upper Keys. Many young locals who are still in high school or out of school & need a second job here!
Boo Kee Sue Botanics –
Prepare to get some of the most unique interior design ideas from boo Kee Sue Botanics. These pieces are the perfect conversation starter for a home. From homemade gifts & decor to large outdoor rugs these pieces compliment any outdoor or indoor area.

Bohemian Arts Club –
The Bohemian Arts Club is an art classroom and event space. Check out their Facebook page ‘Village Square at Trading Post’ to see exactly what kind of events are going on here. They also do art classes with up to 10 people per session for a wine & design type class. Last year during Christmas they had a local artist who was doing a deal on art. My girlfriends & I went crazy & we still have our artwork hanging in our house reminding us of that night.
Fun Fact~ Our local artists are all very unique- on the third Thursday of every month, they have the art walk at the Florida Keys Brewery – which is a place where you can see all different kinds of art come to life.
